Welcome to our new visiting members:

Welcome to Wania, Prasanna and Rahaman who joined the Silicon Hall lab for Spring/Summer 2022.

Wania (NSERC USRA) is currently doing her undergraduate degree in Manufacturing Engineering at Ontario Tech University. Her time at Silicon Hall was focused on Advanced Nanomaterials for Supercap and Battery Fabrication.

Prasanna (Mitacs Globalink) is a final year undergrad in BTech (2019-2023) in Metallurgical and Materials engineering from the National Institute of Technology Karnataka, India. He is working closely with Nishant in tuning/characterization opto-electrical properties of nanostructured materials.

Rahaman (Mitacs Globalink) is currently studying B. Tech final year mechanical engineering at Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT), Vellore, India. His research work at Silicon Hall focuses on improving and analyzing various factors in the supercapacitors and investigating the Opto-electronic characteristics of Silicon-based nanomaterials.

Silico Hall Update (Pandemic & Quarantine Time)

Congratulations to Naghmeh, Meisam and Amir for successfully defending their MASc thesis with a strong publication record ( More info: Google Scholar)

Naghmeh is pursuing her PhD at the UofT and Meisam started his career in industry right after his graduation.

Mohammad published several journal papers via our international collaboration in biology and biomedical engineering. During the pandemic, we published a journal paper titled: Design of advanced siRNA therapeutics for the treatment of COVID-19 in the journal of Meta Gene.

Shreeniket completed his MEng project in development of novel artificial neural network for prediction of optical properties of nanostructured materials and published his paper in the prestigious journal of Opto-Electronic Advances. Also, he presented the results of his work in the conference of Laser Applications 2021 (OPTICA)

Akshay, Silicon Hall Undergrad. RA, has published the results of his work in collaboration with Rupa Haldavnekar (Toronto Metropolitan University) in the journal of ACS Applied Biomaterials:

Tracking the Evolution of Metastasis with Self-Functionalized 3D Nanoprobes

Last by no means the least… we would like to welcome Mayuresh and Nishant for joining the Silicon Hall team as new grad students. You can find more about their background and research activities via the “People” tab.

Congratulations to Jankhan for successfully defending his master’s thesis!

Jankhan! congratulations on your MASc! That is a huge accomplishment that requires a tremendous amount of hard work and dedication. Your perseverance over past year has finally paid off. You will be missed, but I know that you will continue to be a part of our Silicon Hall family.

I , on behalf of Silicon Hall family, wish you all the best for the exciting things that await you.

Jankhan’s 1st MASc paper in “MDPI Lubricants”

Congratulations to Jankhan for publishing his MASc paper in Lubricants

Effects of Reduced Graphene Oxide (rGO) at Different Concentrations on Tribological Properties of Liquid Base Lubricants

Keep up the good work Jankhan!

Chirag’s last MASc paper in “Results In Physics”

Chirag’s last MASc paper has been published in “Results in Physics

Synthesis of Silicon Nano-fibrous (SiNf) thin film with controlled thickness and electrical resistivity

Congratulations to Chirag for Defending His MASc Thesis

Sincere congratulation to Mr. Chirag Paladiya! Chirag successfully defended his MASc dissertation. His work was found to be well researched, unique, and clearly articulated both in his presentation and dissertation thesis. The committee was very impressed by these elements.

Although, Chirag is not my first student to be graduated, he is the first in the sense of completing his MASc at UOIT under my supervision after transferring his master from UNB (previous Silicon Hall’s home). This is an achievement by itself, and it was an absolute pleasure and pride for me to supervise him.

We wish him the very best as he spreads his wings to venture into future career pursuits!
