Welcome to our new visiting members:
Welcome to Wania, Prasanna and Rahaman who joined the Silicon Hall lab for Spring/Summer 2022.
Wania (NSERC USRA) is currently doing her undergraduate degree in Manufacturing Engineering at Ontario Tech University. Her time at Silicon Hall was focused on Advanced Nanomaterials for Supercap and Battery Fabrication.
Prasanna (Mitacs Globalink) is a final year undergrad in BTech (2019-2023) in Metallurgical and Materials engineering from the National Institute of Technology Karnataka, India. He is working closely with Nishant in tuning/characterization opto-electrical properties of nanostructured materials.
Rahaman (Mitacs Globalink) is currently studying B. Tech final year mechanical engineering at Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT), Vellore, India. His research work at Silicon Hall focuses on improving and analyzing various factors in the supercapacitors and investigating the Opto-electronic characteristics of Silicon-based nanomaterials.

Congratulations to Naghmeh, Meisam and Amir for successfully defending their MASc thesis with a strong publication record ( More info: Google Scholar)
Naghmeh is pursuing her PhD at the UofT and Meisam started his career in industry right after his graduation.
Mohammad published several journal papers via our international collaboration in biology and biomedical engineering. During the pandemic, we published a journal paper titled: Design of advanced siRNA therapeutics for the treatment of COVID-19 in the journal of Meta Gene.
Shreeniket completed his MEng project in development of novel artificial neural network for prediction of optical properties of nanostructured materials and published his paper in the prestigious journal of Opto-Electronic Advances. Also, he presented the results of his work in the conference of Laser Applications 2021 (OPTICA)
Akshay, Silicon Hall Undergrad. RA, has published the results of his work in collaboration with Rupa Haldavnekar (Toronto Metropolitan University) in the journal of ACS Applied Biomaterials:
Tracking the Evolution of Metastasis with Self-Functionalized 3D Nanoprobes
Last by no means the least… we would like to welcome Mayuresh and Nishant for joining the Silicon Hall team as new grad students. You can find more about their background and research activities via the “People” tab.
Congrats to Sarah
Congratulations to Sarah for winning the third place at this year’s Three Minute Thesis (3MT) competition.
